About Fuego Dance School
Fuego Dance School opened its doors in the autumn of 2021, led by Mikael Deskalou and Irina Kurochkina. Our primary focus is Bachata Sensual, which we teach across several levels – catering to everyone, from complete beginners to experienced dancers.
The school is driven by a passion for dance's ability to unite people and express emotions. For us, this is more than just dance steps; it is a place for community, joy, and personal growth. We strive to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels seen and encouraged.
Whether you want to learn the fundamentals, fine-tune your technique, or simply find a new community, you are warmly welcome to become part of our Fuego family.
What makes our school unique:
- We use helper instructors in our classes to give you more personal feedback.
- We place great importance on technique and understanding the core principles of dance.
Our goal is for you as a student to:
- Feel like part of the Fuego family.
- Experience a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
- Develop your dance technique and self-confidence.
- Become a respectful and musical dancer, regardless of role.

Amanda W
"Fuego is a dance school where you feel welcome from the start. The teachers are knowledgeable and helpful. For me, dance has not always been a given; when I started at Fuego, I was very insecure in dance contexts, afraid of making mistakes, which made me tense and less motivated. Fuego has helped me grow as a dancer; you get feedback on a more personal level, both from the instructors and from the assistant instructors, which is invaluable."
Elvir D
"Has given me a better understanding of several different technical aspects, more than just learning sequences."
My R
"What I appreciate about Fuego is that you feel seen and receive specific feedback based on your dance level. With fantastic teachers and assistant teachers, there's always someone there with encouraging words and constructive feedback. Courses combine theory and practice, which also gives you a better understanding of the dance instead of just learning a choreography."
Ricardo R
"I’ve improved so much since joining, especially compared to my experience at a previous school. The environment here is safe, welcoming, and free of pretension – everyone, from the main instructors Mikael and Irina to the assistant teachers, is genuinely committed to helping you grow as a dancer. You can feel the difference in how they teach: it’s not about showing off, it’s about real progress."
